ZA Bank sustains profitability with net profit reaching nearly 1.5 times the prior-year level

Hong Kong, 30 September 2026 — ZA Bank today announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026. The Bank delivered a solid overall performance, with net profit rising to nearly 1.5 times the level recorded in the same period last year, reaching HKD 70.6 million. This result has extended the Bank’s growth momentum since it first achieved profitability, demonstrating the sustainability of its business model.
Core businesses drive sustained profitability and steady growth
During the period, profitability was primarily driven by the Bank’s core businesses. Net interest margin, which outperformed the industry1, rose to 2.99%, while non-interest income continued to expand, with net revenue reaching HKD 578 million. These results underscore ZA Bank’s effective asset and liability management and operational execution, reinforcing its solid earnings capability and long-term competitiveness.
Wealth management drives record non-interest income
Wealth management continued to grow in the first half of 2026, driving a 76% year-on-year increase in the Bank’s net fee and commission income to a record HKD 123 million for the period. In particular, stock turnover rose by nearly seven-fold, while investment AUM increased by 155%.
ZA Bank became the first digital bank in Hong Kong to launch the Wealth Management Connect Southbound Scheme, and to offer business banking investment services. These initiatives further broaden the Bank’s investment services for retail and corporate customers, helping to expand its investment ecosystem and strengthen its diversified and resilient revenue base.
Leading across Asia
ZA Bank continued to advance digital banking services and received further recognition in Asia. At The Asset’s Triple A Digital Awards 2026, the Bank was named Digital Bank of the Year (Asia), standing out among traditional banks and further strengthening its market position and competitive advantage as a leading bank in Asia.
